Introduction

As early as 2008, The Hong Kong Society for the Aged (SAGE) launched the “CADENZA Community Project: Elder-Friendly Employment Practice” with the sponsorship of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to promote and enhance elderly employment in the ageing population in Hong Kong.  This 4-year Project had successfully arouse public recognition of old aged people as valuable HR asset of the community.  The change achieved has been recognized with additioanl funding by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant to launch another phase of the project as “The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant : Elder-Friendly Employment Practice”(EFEP) since April 2014.  The project aims to encourage employers to consider making good use of the capabilities of the retirees to maintain a stable workforce, and to assist middle-and-old-aged people to re-enter the workforce and serve the community.
